About

Ruwudu is an Arabic-script font that follows the flowing, compact Rubutun Kano style used across parts of West Africa, with attentive shaping that keeps strokes dense yet readable at modest sizes. Letterforms lean traditional rather than calligraphic showpiece: strokes are fairly even, connections are tight, and the rhythm feels handwritten but disciplined, which helps when setting teaching materials, religious notes, or community publications in Hausa and related languages. It shines in projects that care about representing this regional writing style accurately, especially when you combine short headlines with explanatory paragraphs or captions. If you need highly neutral, pan-Arabic typography or extensive non–West African language coverage, you may find its script focus too narrow.

Best For:
West African Arabic-script educational materials
Hausa and related language publications using Rubutun Kano style
Culturally grounded religious or community booklets
Short headings paired with explanatory notes in Arabic script

Not Ideal For:
Pan-Arabic branding that must match Middle Eastern styles
Projects requiring broad non–West African language support
Highly modern, geometric Arabic display work

Perfect for body text, editorial, and headline, with a classic and serif style.
