Caudex Font

Caudex is a serif typeface with slightly wedge-shaped serifs, moderate contrast, and compact proportions that echo medieval book typography while still feeling usable on modern screens. The strokes are firm rather than delicate, with a fairly tight rhythm that makes headings and short passages feel dense and intentional instead of airy. It carries a decidedly historical, serious personality, so it works nicely for editorial covers, museum or history-themed branding, fantasy gaming interfaces, and quote graphics that need an academic edge. For long, small-size body text in highly neutral corporate layouts, its old-style details can feel a bit too characterful and may fatigue readers over many pages. If you like fonts such as other old-style serifs but want something with more medieval flavor, Caudex pushes further in that direction without becoming decorative.
