Butler Stencil Font
Free for Commercial UseAbout
Butler Stencil takes the structure of a classical serif and carves it into clean stencil sections, with sharp contrast between thick and thin strokes and generous vertical proportions. The letterforms feel polished rather than rough, so it leans more toward luxury branding and editorial design than industrial or military uses. At display sizes, the open stencil gaps give logos, magazine covers, and packaging a distinctive edge while still feeling readable and composed. In smaller body text or dense UI interfaces, those gaps start to distract, so it is better reserved for headlines, short pull quotes, and hero graphics instead of long reading passages.
Best For:
Luxury headlines in magazines or lookbooks
Brand marks and wordmarks needing a refined stencil serif
Posters and covers where high-contrast titles stand out
Not Ideal For:
Long paragraphs or continuous body text
Tiny captions, UI labels, or accessibility-critical copy
Projects needing a casual or handwritten tone
Perfect for branding, editorial, and headline, with a bold and display style.
