ADLaM Display carries a visual weight that feels both deliberate and culturally grounded. Its letterforms are built on large open counters and smooth, consistent curves — construction that reads with authority at headline scale but loses nuance when pushed below 24pt. The design draws directly from West African decorative traditions: chevrons, lozenges, and the geometric patterns of Fulani khasas blankets shape the rhythm of each glyph. The asymmetry between uppercase and lowercase characters gives the typeface a genuinely distinctive texture on the page.
