Markazi Text Font
Free for Commercial UseAbout
Markazi Text combines low-to-moderate stroke contrast with open counters and measured spacing so paragraphs stay readable even at smaller sizes. The Arabic follows a contemporary Naskh structure, while the Latin companion is drawn to sit comfortably alongside it without visual tension. Overall it feels serious, text-focused, and unobtrusive rather than decorative, which helps it fade into the background of dense articles or bilingual reports. I tend to reach for it when working on Arabic-first interfaces, news sites, or academic PDFs that need consistent hierarchy across Regular to Bold weights, but I avoid it when a display logo or highly expressive headline is the main goal.
Best For:
bilingual editorial layouts
arabic news and magazine sites
academic reports and theses
long-form website articles
Not Ideal For:
logo-centric branding
playful kids products
large decorative headlines
minimal text-only posters
Perfect for body text, editorial, and headline, with a classic and serif style.
