Kosugi Font

Kosugi is a Gothic-style Japanese sans serif with low stroke contrast, monospaced-style metrics, and gently rounded terminals that keep the texture even line after line. It feels calm and utilitarian rather than decorative, so it supports interfaces, captions, and signage where clarity matters more than personality. The spacing is generous enough for small-size legibility on screens, yet sturdy enough to hold up in medium-weight headlines. In practice, it works well for bilingual Japanese–Latin layouts, app menus, and functional web pages that still need a touch of local flavor. I would not reach for Kosugi in highly expressive branding or luxury editorial work, where a more distinctive or refined face is usually expected.
