Chivo Font
Free for Commercial UseAbout
Designed by Héctor Gatti for Omnibus-Type, Chivo is a neo-grotesque sans-serif with seven weights — Thin through Black — each paired with a true italic. Its stroke widths stay largely uniform, with subtle humanist inflections that keep the typeface from reading as clinical or cold. Lighter weights hold up well in long-form reading environments; the Black weight carries enough visual density for banners, covers, and section headers. That said, Chivo doesn’t bring much expressive personality at display sizes — if the brief calls for something with visual flair or a distinctive voice, a more opinionated grotesque would serve better. Where it genuinely earns its place is in systems that need range: a single family that can run a full page from caption to headline without friction.
