Broken Press Font
Free for personal useAbout
Broken Press Font is a highly textured display face with chipped edges, irregular contours, and uneven inking that makes each letter feel roughly stamped rather than cleanly set. The weight is fairly heavy, with compact counters and tight shapes that read best at larger sizes where the fractured details can breathe. Stylistically it leans toward grunge and horror, closer to distressed stencil or splatter fonts than to clean sans serifs, so it suits album covers, underground flyers, thriller book jackets, and edgy social posts far more than sober corporate materials. It works well when you need one loud headline or logo wordmark, but becomes tiring in long paragraphs or UI labels, so pairing it with a neutral body font is almost mandatory.
Best For:
grunge music posters and flyers
horror or thriller book and movie titles
edgy logo wordmarks for underground brands
merch graphics and album covers
Not Ideal For:
body text or long reading blocks
formal corporate or governmental branding
clean UI design or accessibility-focused layouts
minimalist, understated visual identities
Perfect for branding, halloween, and logo, with a bold and decorative style.
