There’s something raw and confident about Addiel — the letterforms carry that unmistakable late-70s groove energy, with bold strokes, tight but lively spacing, and curves that feel sketched rather than engineered. Created by Carlos Addiel Gaxiola Soto as part of a graphic design workshop at Instituto Tecnológico de Sonora in Mexico, the font carries a handmade spirit that formal typefaces rarely achieve. It lands well on concert posters, retro-themed packaging headers, and music event branding where personality matters more than precision. The glyph set covers Basic Latin and Latin-1 Supplement — serviceable for most Western European languages, but nothing beyond. Where it falls apart is predictable: small sizes, body text, or any context demanding readability over style will expose its limits quickly. Use it large, use it intentionally.
