Workbench takes the segmented, low-resolution look of old monitors and turns it into a flexible, modern monospace typeface. Its strokes are modular and grid-based, with adjustable “bleed” and scanline intensity that let you dial in anything from clean pixel-ish text to heavily degraded screen noise. Spacing is tight and mechanical, which reinforces the terminal feel but can make long paragraphs tiring to read. In practice, it shines when you treat the type as an interface element: status readouts, debug overlays, in-game consoles, or faux command-line prompts. Use it when you want the typography to carry the tech narrative, not when you need quiet, neutral body text or highly formal branding.
