Designed by John Vargas Beltrán, Salsa is an expressive display typeface rooted in the rhythmic heritage of 1970s Latin American music. Instead of relying on exaggerated grunge stereotypes, it achieves its dynamic personality through the natural flow of a flat, round brush stroke. Its upright, italicized structure provides a rhythmic bounce, while the thick letterforms create a warm aesthetic.

This typeface excels when injecting energy and cultural flair into a layout. It works beautifully for festive event posters, vibrant restaurant menus, and casual food packaging. However, due to its highly stylized characteristics, Salsa struggles in serious corporate environments or dense editorial layouts where neutral, highly legible typography is required.
