Restricted Area Font
Free for personal useAbout
When working with the Restricted Area Font, designers will immediately notice its commanding, heavy-duty stencil construction. The letterforms are built with thick, uniform strokes and feature the characteristic disconnected bridges typical of industrial lettering. Proportions are generally wide and solid, giving each character a substantial footprint on the page. The open spacing helps maintain clarity in larger headlines, allowing the bold shapes to breathe without overlapping. This typeface performs exceptionally well in military-inspired apparel, distressed poster designs, and rugged outdoor branding. However, these same heavy, broken strokes make the design less suitable for long paragraph text, as the dense forms reduce continuous reading comfort at smaller sizes.
Best For:
military apparel graphics
industrial product packaging
rugged outdoor branding
distressed poster headlines
Not Ideal For:
long paragraph text
corporate reports
small interface labels
Perfect for branding, headline, and packaging, with a bold and display style.
