Pompiere Font

Pompiere is a low-contrast, condensed sans serif with very tall ascenders, small x-height, and relaxed, slightly irregular strokes that echo a hand-lettered sign outside a New York firehouse. The proportions feel airy and informal, so text takes up little horizontal space while still reading clearly at medium to large sizes. It carries a friendly, almost handwritten mood rather than a strict geometric voice, which works nicely for whimsical packaging, neighborhood restaurant identities, and warm editorial titles. Because of the light weight and modest x-height, it is not a workhorse for dense body copy or tiny UI labels, but it shines when you treat it as display typography and give it breathing room.
