Mirza Font
Free for Commercial UseAbout
Mirza draws from classical Naskh calligraphy while meeting the optical demands of modern print typography. The Arabic glyphs carry measured stroke contrast and deliberate letter spacing tuned for sustained reading — not decorative display. The Latin companion, designed separately by Eduardo Tunni, maintains tonal harmony across both scripts without forcing visual competition. Four weights — Regular through Bold — allow hierarchy within long-form content without losing the font’s bookish, authoritative character. It works well in Arabic editorial publishing, bilingual annual reports, educational textbooks, and multilingual web content. That said, it loses expressive force at large display sizes; if the goal is a bold calligraphic headline or ornamental branding, a more stylized Nastaliq or expressive Arabic display face would serve better.
