About

Jacquard 12 Charted translates a Victorian needlepoint alphabet into a pixel-like, charted grid, so every letter feels stitched from tiny squares rather than drawn with smooth curves. The weight is assertive, spacing is fairly open, and the rigid structure gives words a mechanical, almost tapestry-like rhythm. It reads as a decorative display face with a strong retro-tech twist, somewhere between needlework and bitmap type. I tend to use it for short phrases in posters, album covers, or social content where the “embroidered” look becomes part of the concept. It quickly becomes tiring in long text or serious corporate layouts, and it clashes with overly minimal UI work, so I usually pair it with a simple sans serif and keep the copy very short.

Best For:
bold headlines in retro layouts
experimental branding with a stitched look
posters or covers that reference craft or textiles

Not Ideal For:
long paragraphs or body copy
formal business documents
clean, highly minimal interfaces

Perfect for branding, gaming, and headline, with a artistic and decorative style.
