About

Idiqlat is a refined East Syriac font based on early twentieth‑century metal type, updated for today’s screens and print workflows. Its strokes are relatively even, with moderate contrast and carefully tuned spacing that keeps stacked diacritics clear without feeling airy or fragile. Alternates, ligatures, and full diacritic support help complex Syriac words remain legible at text sizes, while the ExtraLight and Light weights open up more expressive headline work in religious or cultural publishing. In my view it shines when you need Syriac that feels traditional yet not dusty; if you are after highly ornamental calligraphy or ultra‑compressed titles, this family will feel too restrained.

Best For:
liturgical book interiors
bilingual Syriac–Latin educational texts
church bulletins and scripture portions
research articles involving East Syriac

Not Ideal For:
dense legal-style documents
highly decorative logos
ultra-small mobile UI labels

Perfect for body text, editorial, and headline, with a calm and display style.
