Font Submission Terms

These font submission terms govern the process of submitting fonts to HaooFont (haoofont.com). By submitting a font to our platform, you agree to the terms outlined below. Please read them carefully before making a submission.

1. Introduction

HaooFont welcomes font submissions from designers, typographers, and creators who want to share their work with a wider audience. Our platform hosts and distributes fonts alongside a suite of font tools, making typography accessible to users worldwide.

These terms explain your rights and responsibilities as a font submitter, and the rights you grant to HaooFont when you submit a font.

2. Eligibility to Submit

To submit a font to HaooFont, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You are the original creator and copyright owner of the font, OR
  • You have explicit legal authorization from the copyright owner to distribute the font
  • You are at least 18 years old or have the legal capacity to enter into these terms
  • You have the authority to grant the rights described in these terms

If you do not meet these requirements, you are not eligible to submit fonts to HaooFont.

3. Ownership & Rights

By submitting a font to HaooFont, you confirm and represent that:

  • You own the copyright to the font, or you have obtained proper written permission from the copyright owner to distribute it
  • The font does not infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights, including copyrights, trademarks, or patents
  • The font does not contain any material that violates applicable laws or regulations
  • All information you provide about the font (name, author, license) is truthful and accurate

You retain full ownership of your font. Submitting a font to HaooFont does not transfer your copyright or ownership to us.

4. License Grant to HaooFont

By submitting a font, you grant HaooFont the following license:

  • Non-exclusive — you are free to distribute the font through other platforms and channels
  • Worldwide — the license applies globally, without geographic restriction
  • Royalty-free — HaooFont is not required to pay royalties for hosting or distributing the font

This license permits HaooFont to:

  • Host the font on our servers
  • Display the font in previews, generators, and other font tools
  • Distribute the font to users for download, subject to the license terms you specify

This license remains in effect for as long as the font is hosted on HaooFont. You may request removal of your font at any time (see Section 7).

5. Accuracy of Information

When submitting a font, you must provide accurate and complete information, including:

  • Font name — the correct, original name of the font
  • License type — the license under which the font is being distributed (e.g., SIL Open Font License, free for personal use, free for commercial use, or other)
  • Author information — the name of the designer or foundry, along with any relevant links or attribution details

HaooFont will display this information on the font’s download page. You are responsible for keeping this information up to date. If any details change, contact us at [email protected] to request an update.

6. Prohibited Content

The following types of font submissions are strictly prohibited:

  • Fonts that you do not own and do not have permission to distribute
  • Fonts that infringe on the copyright, trademark, or intellectual property of any third party
  • Fonts that contain malware, malicious code, or hidden harmful content
  • Fonts that include offensive, illegal, or discriminatory material
  • Fonts submitted under false authorship or with intentionally misleading license information

HaooFont reserves the right to remove any font that violates these rules without prior notice.

7. Review and Removal Rights

HaooFont reserves the right to:

  • Review any submitted font before or after publication
  • Reject a font submission for any reason, including quality concerns, licensing issues, or policy violations
  • Remove a previously published font at any time if we determine it violates these terms, infringes on third-party rights, or is subject to a valid copyright complaint

If you are a font submitter and wish to remove your font from HaooFont, contact us at [email protected]. We will process removal requests within a reasonable timeframe.

HaooFont takes copyright seriously. If a third party believes that a font hosted on our platform infringes their copyright, they may submit a DMCA takedown notice.

If you receive a counter-notification or dispute related to a font you submitted, you may be required to resolve the matter directly with the complainant. HaooFont is not obligated to mediate disputes between submitters and third-party claimants.

9. Limitation of Liability

HaooFont operates as a platform for hosting and distributing fonts submitted by users and designers. We are not the original creator of most fonts on our website.

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • HaooFont is not liable for any legal disputes, claims, or damages arising between font submitters and third parties
  • HaooFont is not liable for any copyright infringement, licensing violations, or intellectual property disputes related to submitted fonts
  • HaooFont makes no warranties regarding the legal status, originality, or licensing accuracy of any submitted font

By submitting a font, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless HaooFont, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your submission or any breach of these terms.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these font submission terms from time to time to reflect changes in our platform, policies, or legal requirements.

When changes are made, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued submission of fonts after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

We encourage submitters to review this page periodically.
