Bernardo Moda draws from early 20th-century commercial lettering — specifically Lucien Bernhard’s Fashion typeface — rebuilt by Peter Wiegel with expanded Latin, Cyrillic, and extended glyph support. The letterforms are tall and narrow, with pronounced stroke contrast: hairline thins set against confident thick stems, topped with delicate serifs that lean into an Art Deco sensibility. This makes it a strong candidate for fashion magazine headers, vintage poster titles, or high-contrast brand wordmarks where elegance needs a historical edge. That said, its slender proportions make it poorly suited for small-size usage — at body text scale, the hairline strokes become fragile and risk disappearing on low-resolution screens or print. Works best when given space to breathe at large sizes.
