Fustat Font

Fustat builds on manuscript Kufi rhythm, but its strokes are simplified into a calm, sans serif system with a tall x-height, open counters, and steady verticals. The variable family runs from extra light to extra bold, so you can shift from quiet body text to dense navigation bars without switching fonts. Spacing stays relatively tight yet controlled, which helps menus, dashboards, and bilingual layouts feel compact but not cramped on smaller screens. I like using it where Arabic and Latin must share the same visual hierarchy, such as government portals or SaaS products, though it can come across as too restrained for expressive posters, youth branding, or anything needing a playful, hand-drawn vibe.
