Candal is a heavy, single-style sans serif with broad, even strokes, compact proportions, and open counters that keep large text blocks readable at a glance. It leans toward a humanist feel, but its blocky rhythm and firm verticals give it a sturdy, almost retro poster quality. I tend to reach for it when a layout needs loud, uncomplicated typography—think bold campaign headlines, social graphics, or signage where legibility beats nuance. It is less convincing in dense body copy or refined editorial work, where its weight and limited family range can feel tiring or one-note compared with more nuanced sans serif families.
